Love the story you painted with this soundscape man. Can definitely catch the vibe of curious loathing. Especially the comic-style pictures of the female looking curious and another with her looking shocked. That was a perfect way to use facial expressions (of the female) for recognition of an emotional perspective.
The sinister sounding strings in the beginning of the song contrast the faster speed of the sound during the middle portion of your soundscape. This creates a sense of movement within the space of your project.
The manipulation of the timbre during this faster sequence of strings causes the tone to appear more complex or disorganized. I really enjoy this effect that you added. Good job on the project, look forward to presenting with you tomorrow!
I also enjoyed the “Sinister strings” in your piece. I think the reason it seems so sinister is because it’s difficult to place the Intensity of the instrument. It’s played loudly but for some reason my head wants to claim that it’s soft. Though I know it’s not soft it’s just the Timber being very tonal very easy to listen too. The I believe, chalk sound, seems like the Directionality has been tweaked but that may just be a form of Recognition I know that chalk streaks from one side to the other so my brain automatically adjust it in my mind.
Hey, i thought your Soundscape was awesome. the part that i enjoyed most about it was probably your pictures and the way it coincident with the song. it really paints a picture of curious loathing. The string in the beginning of your song really sets the mood for it. I also enjoyed listening to the part where Dali's picture came up and you had that sound effect where it sounded like someone was scrapping their fork and knife against each other and you had this directionality effect where the noise was coming through one speaker and then the other which messed with my mind. Overall I thought you did a great job with it.
I really enjoyed your soundscape. I thought the pictures fit really well with the music. The sound of the knife added a sense of depth to that particular section of the music and it messed with my perception. I think it was a great decision to follow the knife scrapes with intense strings, which gives a darker tone. This built tension as the music grew. The strings also give the perception that the tempo is increasing even though it it staying relatively the same. I really like the way you altered the first picture in your soundscape. The listener can tell what the picture is about but they cannot really see where they are. Overall I think you did a great job!
Your soundscape turned out really well. I love at about 0:25 when the weirdly distorted piano starts in. The panning of the chalk sound gives the piece an interesting directionality, going from ear to ear and definitely presenting the curious aspect of your emotion. The loathing picks up and is overtly noticeable at around 0:50 when the lower strings loop is added in, along with other darker effects.
I liked what you did with the comic pictures, and the story you conveyed throughout the soundscape overall. It was a good touch adding the woman's face into the same frame as the couple kissing, showing us her emotion almost like a reaction shot.
The way you progressively added more layers and let the song and story build up throughout the soundscape gave me a sense of foreboding and no doubt curiosity, which is exactly what you were going for. You nailed the emotions.
